The tomatoes

                        The "payar" episode has given me some light to fulfill my dream,I always wanted some fresh tomatoes,that green ones.but we hardly get those from the shop.All they have will be red ones that too not at all fresh.So I decided to get some seedlings from a nearby nursery.A visit to that nursery made my way to the terrace garden concept.They gave us so much of information and assistance to start a terrace kitchen garden.So as a starter package I decided to implement a package,which I will explain in detail in my coming posts.

                         We got some tomato seedlings,some palak,some payar etc,of which only the tomatoes where successful.Since I was in short of pots,decided to plant it in sack bags on our small backyard terrace.The soil taken from our backyard was mixed with ashes,dry cow-dung,some bonemeal and planted them.

     
                In almost 30 days they have grown tall and started flowering.

                                Will update once the fruits are ready to pose for a photo.

                                            I was not that patient to wait for the tomatoes to rip.So plucked a few raw green ones for a curry..
 

                                        Now that a few are getting ripe.
